Thank you to the Wilderness Resort for hosting my family for an amazing stay. As always all thoughts and opinions are my own.

We just got back from an amazing family vacation in Wisconsin Dells at the Wilderness Resort. It was our family’s first time visiting the Wilderness Resort. My husband and I have been to Wisconsin Dells before but it was the first time we took Riley. We wanted to do a fall getaway and the Wilderness Resort in Wisconsin Dells was the perfect choice because they have a ton of indoor waterparks. It’s located about 3 ½ hours from Chicago so it made for the perfect weekend getaway. We had the most amazing drive in our Toyota Highlander Hybrid which made for the perfect road trip vehicle. It had so much space for our luggage and extra snacks.

Whew, that was a lot right. You have so many choices! We stayed in a double suite wet bar with a pool view. It was out of season for the outdoor pool but we still had a great view. 7 Tips For Visiting The Wilderness Resort

We know that it’s super easy to get overwhelmed with the number of activities and things to do at the Wilderness Resort but I’ve got you covered with some tips for visiting the Wilderness resort.

Tip 1: Plan Ahead

Yes, you should really consider looking up and researching the Wilderness Resort. They have so many activities that you should somewhat map out what you are going to do while at the resort so that you save time. I researched all of the waterparks and determined which ones we would visit and what arcades we would also visit. It helped us save time and we were able to maximize our time.

Tip 2: Look over the material provided by the hotel

You guys the Wilderness is top-notch when it comes to providing information for your stay. Upon arrival, the desk attendant gave us so much information that helped us with our stay. They provided a map of the entire resort with everything labeled. They had all the restaurants and everything listed which made it super easy for us to plan. I am a huge planner when it comes to my vacations so the fact that they provided us with so much information won me over! Look through everything and plan accordingly and also be flexible. It’s important to know that everything won’t go as planned but as long as you are flexible things will go great!

Tip 3: Leave the towels at home

Upon check-in, at the resort, they provide you with towel cards that you can turn in at each waterpark and get new towels. This saves you space in your suitcase so you don’t have to lug towels with you. I love that you can just return the towels and get fresh ones.

Tip 4: Take advantage of the free activities

The Wilderness resort offers a ton of free activities. The resort provided an activities schedule upon check-in which included information on the Wild Kids Club as well. We checked out the schedule and got to attend the Ken-Ducky Derby Races in the morning and we also went on a horse-drawn carriage ride through the woods. There are other free activities that happen on the resort such as bingo, free crafts, and even a dance party in the lobby! Trust me when I tell you that there is no shortage of fun and free things to do at the Wilderness resort with your kiddos!

Tip 5: Make sure you plan where to eat

It’s easy to get overwhelmed with where you will eat. There are so many options, make sure you take a look at the places to eat beforehand especially with kids who are sometimes picky eaters. They have everything from Monks a family-friendly sports experience, to Sarentos Italian restaurant and pizzeria. There is something that everyone will enjoy at the Wilderness.

Tip 6: Bring a Stroller for Smaller Children

There is a TON of walking on the Wilderness Resort so if you have little ones make sure you bring along a stroller. They will most likely get tired and whine from all the walking so be prepared lol! You’ve been warned LOL!

Tip 7: Bring a waterproof case to take pictures

I discovered phone case covers when I went to Jamaica a few years ago. It really helps if you want to take pictures but not get your phone wet! It’s the best, especially for bloggers if you are trying to get content and don’t want your phone to fall in the water!

I hope you enjoyed the 7 tips for visiting the Wilderness Resort! Have you ever been?
