Kids Academy Brooklyn Boulders Chicago

If you are anything like me then you are always searching for a fun new activity for your children. Riley was recently invited to the Brooklyn Boulders Kid academy. I’ll be honest, before the invitation I had not heard about this place but boy am I glad we found out about it!

Riley was invited to the Kids Academy and she was super excited to attend. I attended a yoga class for an hour while she got acquainted with the kids academy, then I met her to finish out her class. Brooklyn Boulders offers an array of youth amenities. They seek to change the game when it comes to experiential education for youth, which I totally am in love with btw! They are very meticulous about creating holistic curricula, that is both experiential and interactive, on and off our walls for your kids. Kids will leave BKB programming with new friends, a stronger sense of self-confidence and experience building their will to try, fail and try again. BKB teaches things like problem-solving, concentration, movement and spatial awareness. I can attest that Riley was a little scared at first but the instructors really helped her and made her feel good. They got her to try again and she climbed up the wall some! I was so proud of her!

Kids Academy’s approach is climbing with a twist. They integrate classroom-style, process-oriented learning into a climbing environment, how cool is that? The curriculum is based off four aims: Be Relentless, Get Weird, Make it Beautiful and Attitude is Everything (because it is!) They teach children the mental, physical and social aspects of climbing as they apply to life, and also help them apply those principles to real-life situations. Some of the activities of the Kids Academy include bouldering, roped climbing, stretching, and climbing games geared towards accomplishing the goal of the day.
