Marley Twist Tutorial

marley twist tutorial

Looking for a super easy protective style? Marley Twists are the perfect style that is good for any time of the year. Check out my tutorial, and how I styled my Marley Twists.

Details: The hair I used was called Equal Marley braid Hair, I got it from my local BSSย for $5. Many have asked how I got it to look so soft, I researched and this brand was a softer of the Marley hair and more easy to manage

the hair I got

the hair I got

I also used eco stylerย gel along with my Qhemetย twist butter, and ElastaQP mango moisturizer to twist the hair.

So I ended up using 4 packs, because I doubled the hair. I explain it all in my YouTube video below ๐Ÿ™‚

THE TRICK!! Sooooo… I twist right over left … so thatsย going to the left lol so at the root I twisted the hair to the right and then proceeded toย right over left. This always confuses me!!!! ย If you twist the opposite way reverse ๐Ÿ™‚ . I liked this way because It looks like your real hair. I got so many questions and ALOTย of people thought it was mine! HEY NOW !!! LOL ANDDDD I was brave and did my cousins TOO!!! Hope I didn’t confuse y’all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Check out the pics of the different styles I have been rocking with my Marley Twists:

It looks really good chelle. I’ went out and bought the hair today so I’m going to attempt it this week. How do you maintain them? And, do you just cover it with a satin scarf or bonnet?

have you had any problems with slippage? I usually go with a braid at the base and it’s a solid attachement but this one looks so much softer.

I’m so glad I ran into your post on curly Nikki! I have been debating for the longest if I should get braids (not the business for my edges) and after seeing how simple and nice your braids look I decided to do the Havana twists. Mine do not look as good as yours but I did pretty good for my first time. This hairstyle will be in heavy rotation. Thanks again!!!!

What do you do as far as upkeep and moisturizing? I want to keep them in for a month and then reinstall but I think washing will frizz up my hair and loosen up the twists.

I oil it everyday. I oil my scalp as well. I didnt wash them because they will frizz up really bad ๐Ÿ™ but you can try just washing your scalp.

Will freshly relaxed hair get great looking results with marley/havana twists? If not, what type of braids will look great on freshly relaxed hair?

So chelle do you think with this hair and style you could take them out and put the same hair back in or different hair? I’ll be starting college this month and I want something to maybe last the first couple months just until I adjust to college life and I wont have a car (or money lol) to get more
