Fall is here! Time for pumpkin spice everything! If you know me, then you know that Fall is my favorite time of the year. With Fall and Winter also comes the germ season which I don’t like at all. But, I prepare for it so that I can keep my family safe from icky germs.

Here are 5 ways that I prepare my home for the fall season and keep the icky germs away.

Wash and Sanitize your Hands Often

We all know that germs are on everything we touch. Wash hands more frequently during the cold season. You can prevent the spread of so many germs by just washing your hands frequently. I set a little reminder for my daughter to make sure that she is constantly washing her little hands. I also keep hand sanitizer in the kitchen and bathroom so that no one forgets to sanitize. You should use hand sanitizer before, after, and in between all trips to the bathroom, when you go outside the house, trips to the fridge. Basically all the time!

Stock your Medicine Cabinet

Germs are everywhere, and I need to make sure that I stock up on all my wellness items so that we are prepared for any sniffles and runny noses that may arise because of the germs and the season. I love shopping at my local Kroger to make sure that we are prepared. They have everything I need!

Here is what I picked up to make sure we are prepared for the colder months.

Breathe Right Strips

I picked these up because they provide relief for congestion. Breathe Right helps give you Better, Sleep Better, & Feel Better and they are so easy to apply. I love that I can get instant nasal congestion relief that’s drug-free. Breathe Right opens your nose up to 38% more than decongestant sprays alone, and helps increase airflow so you can breathe better. And when you can breathe better, you can sleep better. You simply stick the adhesive to your nose area. You shouldn’t use breathe right for children under 5 years of age. Also, people with latex allergies should not use breathe right nasal strips. These also should not be used over sores, sunburned or irritated skin.

Dial Complete White Tea Foam Soap

I love Dial because it is America’s #1 soap*. I also love this soap because it kills 99.99% of germs which is perfect for the upcoming germy season. When I use Dial my hands are always left feeling soft and hydrated. This soap is for external use only.

HALLS Mentholytus

I love Halls! I use Halls to temporarily relieve occasional minor irritation and pain associated with a sore throat and sore mouth. We all can have tickles in our throats, so I am happy to combat all of that with HALLS. HALLS should not be used if sore throat is severe, and persists for more than 2 days and is accompanied by fever, headache, rash, swelling, nausea or vomiting.

Kleenex

Sniffles happen, and with Kleenex, I know that I will get the softness I need just in case. Love having soft tissue that won’t irritate our noses. Everyone can use Kleenex, and its  #1 consumer preferred!

Theraflu

Theraflu gets me through the chilly months of the year. With Theraflu, you get the powerful relief without a prescription. Theraflu ExpressMax Severe Cold & Flu helps treat the symptoms of cold and flu fast. It helps defeat a sore throat, nasal congestion, chest congestion, fever cough headache and body aches. It gives you the power to feel better.

Wash Your Linen

Wash all of your sheets, towels, pillowcases and other bedding materials on a regular basis and in hot water. Did you know that dust mites can accumulate rapidly in these items? We don’t want them to live there!

Clean Your Cleaning Tools

You probably don’t even think of this step, but you should clean your cleaning tools often. Have you ever thought that your mops and sponges might be harboring and even spreading germs? I cringe even thinking about it. So make sure that you are cleaning and disinfecting your tools that you use to clean. You can use hot water and vinegar to clean your mop and wash your rags in hot water in the washing machine. It’s simple but it’s a step that we often forget.

Disinfect Your Home

You should disinfect every surface in your home. Including faucets, sinks, counters, door handles and surfaces to keep your home germ-free. You can create a simple DIY home solution by mixing vinegar with water to clean the surfaces in your home.
