5 Reasons To Attend The Chicago Auto Show

This post is in collaboration with She Buys Cars. As always all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Last week I had the opportunity to attend the 2017 Media Preview of the Chicago Auto Show. I attended with some incredible influencers from She Buys Cars! I had a blast getting to see all the latest cars and learn about each car. Surprisingly, women have a significant impact on car purchases. Women make up 80% of car purchases. Yes, that is correct we are major influencers of car purchases! I also attended the #WhatDrivesHer Luncheon that spoke more about women in the Automotive industry and our impact on car purchases.

But why should you attend the auto show? Are you in the market for a new car? Do you want to see the latest technology features that are offered? Here are a few reasons why you should visit this year’s Chicago Auto Show.

5 Reasons Why You Should Attend The Chicago Auto Show

See The Latest Cool Cars

Now, I will say that I am not a car fanatic, but I love looking at different and innovative vehicles. The Chicago Auto Show has so many different cars on display for you to view it’s just breathtaking! There are the everyday cars on display that we look to purchase every day, but at the Auto Show, you get to view the concept cars, which are prototypes that are made to showcase an idea, test a new styling direction, or highlight advanced technologies.  This year’s Auto Show featured more than a dozen concept vehicles.

There is also a super cars section that features exotic cars. The exotic cars are  $100,000-plus ultra-high-performance sports car or grand tourer. Examples include the Chevrolet Corvette, Ford GT or Lexus LC. Supercars are almost always limited in production. There are only less than 5,000 produced, and sometimes the production can run as low as 100.

Gain Valuable Knowledge

At the Chicago Auto Show, you can learn about the latest up to date information on all the vehicles. There are representatives there to answer all of your questions, and you won’t feel pressured to purchase a vehicle. This is much different than if you were to go to a dealership and view cars. So if you are in the market for a new vehicle and want to learn about it, without being hassled to buy a car, this is the right place for you.

Learn About The Latest Technology

Technology as we know it changes every single day. Everything in our everyday lives changes such as tv, toys, and appliances. Cars are changing too, and you can get an up close and personal look at all the latest features at the Chicago Auto Show. All the latest features from Bluetooth technology, drive assisted cars, and safety features.

Visit the Genesis!

This was my favorite part of the whole show! In 2015 Hyundai announced the introduction of their premium-luxury Genesis brand, and might I add its breathtaking. The first Genesis vehicle is the G90 sedan. This vehicle is an enhancement of the current Hyundai Genesis. There will be other models shortly. The Genesis is a true luxury experience.

2017 Genesis G90

The G90 is an expression of a new kind of luxury. The Genesis G90 was named Top Safety Pick+ by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. It is equipped with the latest advanced safety features, including Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Warning, and Blind Spot Detection. With the G90 you are guaranteed a smooth ride. The EPA-estimated fuel economy is rated at 17 mpg city and 24 mpg highway.

Price $68,100

2018 Genesis G80

The 2018 Genesis G80 is a true beauty. The G80 is in the same category with the Audi A6, BMW 5-Series, Cadillac CTS, Mercedes-Benz E-Class, and Volvo S90 to name a few. Genesis added a sports trim for this new model. They also updated the safety features and refreshed the exterior.

The safety features are top notch including automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, driver attention alert, blind spot detection, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, rear-view camera.

Family Fun

I remember when I was younger I used to attend the Chicago Auto Show with my family. You can get into so many vehicles and also they have riding ramps that take you way up to test out the coolest cars! If you are looking for a fun date night or just a night out with your family, the Chicago Auto Show is the perfect place for you! Make sure to hashtag #CAS17! The Chicago Auto Show runs until February 20th!

Reason number one is my favorite. To see the latest cars like that beautiful Land Rover. I want one so bad! The Genesis also looks fantastic. I’ve always liked it. I also love going to the car shows, miss that now.

While we usually go to the New York auto show, Chicago looks just as cool! I love learning about all the new technology and safety features in the new cars.

I have never been to a car show…primarily because I’m just not that into cars. However, it would be nice just to sit in a few very expensive cars and dream a little bit. LOL

I like the idea of attending car shows for the thrills and knowledge. “Women make up 80% of car purchases,” was impressive. I think going to a car show will be a mighty fine date night. Good info.

I attended the auto show and I would suggest attending the gala that occurs the night before the show opens to the public! (First Look For Charity) It’s soooo much fun and benefits 18 different charities. Several news organizations are there that night. Plus it’s black tie and you get to get all dressed up, eat, drink, listen to music, and network around all the cars. So much fun seeing the auto show this way! 🙂
